Ludisphere Colophon — About

About Ludisphere

A small game-industry newsroom in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

We started Ludisphere because the games business deserved reporting that stops to ask a second question — the one a press release is written to keep you from asking. This is who we are and why we do it the slow way.

Ludisphere covers the game industry the way it deserves to be covered — as a real business made by real people, not a feed of press releases lightly reworded. We report on releases, studios, the market and the culture around games, and we publish columns from people who still do the work: designers, producers, engineers, founders.

Signal over noise

There is more game coverage than anyone can read, and most of it repeats. We took the opposite bet. We publish less, on purpose, so we can report each story properly — talk to the people involved, read the numbers, wait for the second source. If a week has nothing worth your time, we'd rather send a short briefing than pad the page.

Why small is the point

A big newsroom has to feed a machine. A small one can pick its fights. Being a handful of people in Bydgoszcz means we can spend six weeks on one feature and let a hundred non-stories go by untouched. It also means we answer our own email, correct our own mistakes, and don't hide behind a masthead.

How we stay independent

The reporting is funded by readers through the Insider pass, not by the studios we write about. That's not a slogan — it's the whole design. No ad network sets the agenda, no company buys a soft feature, and the only people we owe anything to are the ones who pay for a pass. That's the arrangement we want, because it's the only one that lets us report without flinching.

Who it's for

Readers who work in games, want to, or just take them seriously as a craft and an industry. If you've ever wished a story had asked the obvious next question, Ludisphere is built for you — and Insider is how you keep it going.
